Description: The role of art is expanding as society changes and evolves through our technological revolution and towards a conscious revolution. Art is an artifact, something that is created meaningfully by sentient beings. It can be done alone as self-expression and with the culture as a communicative aspect, where it is meant to convey something to another being. Art is a system or pattern of signifiers that goes through a particular medium to then be decoded by a particular set of humans beings in a cultural context. Art can be sexual, cerebral, emotional and transcendental. Art can also invoke states of consciousness, as it may start out as a third person artifact and can end up as a first-person identification as the observer feels them self to be one with the art, a pure witness of the art. Art provokes the causal witness state, as one looses oneself in the beauty and attraction of the artwork, to the point that object and subject are one. Leonardo da Vinci was a painter, sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanitst and writer. His path shows us that artistic creation can appear on any level. Step back and allow the connection points in da Vinci's picture to become connections points within yourself. What is the conscious intention of your creative instincts and what may it be giving you and others in your self expression and communication? How are your creative instincts translating into artistic creation? We all have creative instincts and potentials with ourselves, uncover yours and express them.
